Washington’s Election to the Virginia House of Burgesses 1758

Join us on the Loudoun Street Mall to celebrate the election of George Washington to the Virginia House of Burgesses. The 26-year-old Colonel of the Virginia Regiment was elected in Winchester VA on July 24, 1758. The original site of the election is where the 1840 Courthouse/Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum stands today.
Come vote for Colonel George Washington in his first election win. The event is free.
