November 14, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The French & Indian War Foundation of Winchester, VA, will hold its 19th Annual Meeting
Sunday, November 14, 2 pm to 4 pm, at the Godfrey Miller Home, 28 S. Loudoun Street in
Winchester.

A business meeting will be held from 2-3 pm.

At 3 pm. Mr. Randy Crane, a member of the board of directors of the Friends of Fort Ashby, Fort Ashby, WV, will give a talk titled “Ashby’s Fort: Lessons Learned”, which will discuss the fort and the people who served there.

Fort Ashby was one of a chain of forts from Fort Cumberland on the Potomac River in Maryland to the North Carolina border under the command of Col. George Washington from 1756-1758 during the French & Indian War.  Col. Washington maintained his headquarters for the Virginia Regiment at Fort Loudoun in Winchester, VA, during this time. The Foundation maintains a property on N. Loudoun Street on which the Northwest bastion of the fort was located.

Join us to learn more about the history of the colonial frontier and the relationship between young George Washington, Winchester and events that lead to the founding of our country.

The event is free. Light fare will be served.
